letters into them for years. rosa started noticing something strange a couple of months ago. >> i think somebody tried to get the mail from the box. and it's a headache because we have to go like maybe every two days to the post office and get our mail. every day. >> reporter: neighbors say they came to the front panel and didn't think there was a problem. but when they stepped to the back side of the mailboxes, they knew they were in trouble. we discovered three different community mailboxes that had been vandalized. that means at least 36 residents have to make that trip to the post office to get their mail. this man says he needs this resolved quickly. he hasn't received his pg&e bill and worries about late fees. we spoke with the property manager who says she doesn't know who's responsible to replace the mailboxes. the owners, the renters, or the post office. the post office did not return our calls today. now rosa says she worries about identity fraud. >> yes. of course i worry about it. >> reporter: in san jose, damian trujillo, nbc bay area news. >>> the bay area's new catholic a

and the forecast. los '60s through oakland in concord santa rosa is in the low 50s currently. there is a mix of '50s and '60s and then about noontime will see widespread '60s indicated by the cream color on your screen. we--green and through the evening it will be dropping to the '50s. lots of sunshine and plenty comfortable conditions. they're looking at mid '70s through concord at danville and pleasanton. mid-60's for downtown san francisco and 60 degrees for ocean beach. upper 60s and low '70's throughout the north bay. >>, said county health officials say more birds have tested positive for the west nile virus. six shares including a chicken was found in concord pleasant day and walnut creek. the chicken was part of flock in oakland. they say the heat wave caused the disease to spread more rapidly. people need to take more preventive measures to keep from being bitten by mosquitoes. also report dead birds because that is the first sign of west nile in a particular location. >> honda is expanding at its recall adding 20036 and pilot suvs. the 2002 through for model years for six and the pilot. t

. low 50s already in santa rosa. mid-40s by tomorrow morning. 59 san jose. 58 in san francisco. and a little bit of a sea breeze still out there around fairfield. the on shore winds picked up today. you may have noticed the plu angels. we had blow clouds west of the golden gate. that was a staple of the afternoon along with cooler temperatures. san francisco a high of 60 degrees. tonight we will see patches of low clouds returning. maybe mist in a few spots tomorrow morning along the does. our afternoon tomorrow a is cooler as more clouds spill in. here the change. not only cooler temperatures but maybe a chance of seeing a few showers especially in the south bay and the santa cruz mountains. the satellite-radar view shows the same area of low pressure off shore waited if the weekend to finish. it will bring in a chance of showers midweek and thursday and friday it shifts in to southern california and showers moving with it well to the south of santa cruz by the end of the week tomorrow, partly cloudy skies. not a lot in the way of showers except up to lake county and northern

officially hit 70. and santa rosa you hit 102 three days ago. you hit only 68 degrees this afternoon. and you will drop down to 48 tonight. napa chilly upper 40s. san rafael 50. redwood city 53. and livermore 53 degrees your overnight low. so something has to be changing. believe it or not. the same area of low pressure now giving us the cool weather was the same one that was down off the southern california coast that counterclockwise flow giving us the offshore wedged. so all it did was move we felt got a different wind direction and you're feeling the change with morning cloud cover and lower temperatures. low pressure will be offshore on the weekend enhancing of the pacific ocean influence giving us even cooler weather and cloudier weather. then by the top of next week low pressure is going to be right over top of the bay area. that's going to give us a shower chance for the first widespread shower chance in a while coming up next monday and next tuesday. so what to expect? a lot of cloud cover each morning. you will get some afternoon sunshine. it will be cloudy to start. weekend will be
